Shadow Walking 18x24

Silent and contemplative, a small black fox wandered up the path towards me. Noticing my presence, the little nomad took a moment to sit and look around before deciding to just go around this strange hairless intruder. No malice was shown towards me, nor I to it. I was so stunned to see such a beautiful fox, that I slowly sat down on the trail, and made myself as unintimidating as possible. They quickly surmised that I had no ill will and only wanted to observe, so after giving me a small pose, it made its way up the mountain beyond where I had dared to trek.

Afterward, I couldn’t help but think, many others may not have had the same reaction, nor have been so lucky. Not that foxes are intimidating, however it felt as though I had been gifted a glimpse into their world and truly seen a Shadow Walking.
